The annual Pendle Powerfest took place yesterday over the bank holiday weekend on Sunday 29th May at Nelson and Colne College between 10am and 4pm.

The Pendle Powerfest is a yearly motor show event that brings together a huge display of approximately 250 vehicles. Ranging from cycles and motorbikes through to classic cars, sports cars, supercars, trucks, tractors, TV and film cars through and vehicles.

In addition to the vast array of vehicles of display there are loads of attractions including classic bus rides, live music, competitions, family entertainment, food stands and a community of like minded motoring enthusiasts.

Blue skies and warm weather set the scene for a perfect event.

The entrance fee was just £3 for adults and £1.50 for children. This year, the monies raised were donated to the Encephalitis Society.

There were so many vehicles on display, I will try and write about as much as possible and include all of my pictures.

I arrived at the event with my brother at around 2pm, the atmosphere was lively with a rock band on stage playing to the large bustling crowds and the hard standing car park was packed with vehicles.

Immediately after the entrance on the right was a selection of supercars parked in the supercar paddock. This included an Aston Martin Virage, Porsche 911 Carrera 4S, Lotus Exige, Dodge Viper SRT 10, Dodge Challenger and a Maserati. There was also a Tesla parked further down.

In the middle of the car park were cars grouped roughly by type, including a Mazda MX-5 section and dozens of Mini’s new and old.

Against the back wall was a lovely orange Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera and a blue 1979 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow 2.

Beside these and next to the main stage were three Ferrari’s and the Ferrari enthusiast club. From left to right was a 1973 Ferrari Dino 326 GTS, a 1989 Ferrari 328 GTS and a 2016 Ferrari 488 Gtb. All looking stunning in red.

In the main section was a variety of fast hatchbacks including a Ford Focus ST and a heavily modified white Ford Focus RS.

Heading towards the back section of the event was a lovely pristine red Jaguar E-Type and a green (Verde Mantis) Lamborghini Miura.

This is the first time I have seen a Lamborghini Miura S in person with it being such a rare car. A gentleman was telling us about the lady owner of the vehicle who had been driving the car around a racetrack yesterday and had a minor bump next to the front right headlight. He said the car was estimated to be worth around £1 million. This was probably the highlight car for myself. It had such a strong presence and the body styling still looked fresh today despite the Lamborghini Miura being around 50 years old. Back in 1966, it was the fastest production car in the world.

In front of the Lamborghini Miura was a replica Interceptor from the film Mad Max Fury Road. For those who haven’t seen the film, it is meant to look rough and ready, straight from the desert hence the huge tires, clearance and crazy engine modifications. The same company Funky Monkey Event Hire also brought Knight Rider and the Highway Patrol Car.

Classic cars were on show from all era’s, MG’s, Triumph’s Morgan’s, a white Bentley Continental GT with Onyx modifications.

Lovers of American vehicles would not be disappointed with a variety of stateside vehicles including pick-up trucks, American muscle cars and American sports cars. An orange Chevrolet Corvette C3 Convertible that was at the 2015 Pendle Powerfest was here and a convertible red Ford Mustang GT with apt registration ‘W10 USA’.

There were tuned and modified cars, rally spec cars, Subaru Imprezas, tractors and machinery. It is the sheer variety and quantity of vehicles that make the Pendle Powerfest a petrol head’s dream.

Whilst walking around and viewing the exhibition, people are friendly and enjoy a good talk about the exhibits on display. Often the knowledgeable owners will be nearby and are very proud of their cars and vehicles. The relaxed, family friendly environment makes it a great event each year and the popularity of the Pendle Powerfest is growing each year.

Did you visit the Pendle Powerfest this year? What was your favourite vehicle on display?
