Article 23 Velvet wrapped Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead coupe spotted in London.
Today The Car Spotter will be talking about a Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead that has been wrapped in black velvet, seen in London outside Harrods.
As if a Rolls-Royce wasn’t unique and luxurious enough with the price tag of £300,000+ some people have to go a step further and modify their vehicles, sometimes in tasteful and appropriate ways and sometimes in other, more individual ways.
Velvet is a material you would associate with clothing, curtains or upholstery. The special fabric is usually reserved for luxury items and is difficult to maintain and keep clean. It would seem strange therefore that somebody has decided to wrap their Rolls-Royce in black velvet.
I am all for wrapping cars in unique colours, matte, gloss and chrome colours however velvet seems a rather ridiculous choice. However, they do say beauty is in the eye of the beholder and the Rolls-Royce owner is free to do what they want with their own vehicle.
I can only assume you can’t take it down the local car wash for a quick jet wash once it becomes dirty.
What are your thoughts on wrapping a car in velvet? Do you think the Rolls-Royce has been ruined? Do you like what the owner has done with the car or do you think it is a waste of money?
Way cool! Some extremely valid points! I appreciate you writing this write-up and the rest of the website
is extremely good.
