Walking past the Wellington Intercontinental and the shape of two supercars caught my attention.

On second glance it transpired they were both McLaren 720S Coupes, 2 of only 41 McLaren 720s models in the entire of New Zealand*.

The McLaren 720s supercar was first released at the Geneva Motor show in March 2017, production followed in May of the same year and features a modified carbon monocoque.

The 720s succeeded the McLaren 650s.

Under the bonnet, a 4.0L twin turbocharged V8 provides 710bhp and is paired with a 7-speed dual clutch transmission. 0-100 km/h (62mph) takes just 2.9 seconds, 200km/h (124mph) in 7.8 seconds and onto a top speed of 341km/h (212mph).

The 2018 McLaren 720s on the left was finished in grey whilst the 2017 McLaren 720s on the right had an exterior finished in silver.

Striking curved bodywork wrapped around the carbon monocoque, high placed exhausts and multi-spoke alloys really make the 720s stand out in a line of cars, members of the public also admiring the rare sight of the British Automotive spectacle.

Wellington Intercontinental always providing a nice array of rare and exotic vehicles.

I look forward to sharing more supercars and unique cars in the near future.
