Today The Car Spotter will be talking about the recent tour of the AutoTrader headquarters in Manchester that I recently completed after being invited to visit.
The AutoTrader headquarters in Manchester can be found on First Street and have been described as ‘The UK’s coolest offices’ by the telegraph, you can see the picture from that article here. Read more about the offices from the Manchester evening news website here.

The 600 staff moved into the new flagship development between May and July of 2014. The offices are vibrant, modern, dynamic and promote the cross-pollination of ideas. Part of the fun theme includes touch screen walls, write on walls and vehicles, pool tables, games consoles, a library and a ski-lodge style area to unwind. The total office fit-out cost £4 million and even involved craning in six iconic vehicles, including the iconic Volkswagen Camper van and a Citroen H van, both of which are kitted out to host meetings with interactive screens and seating inside.
The offices take up the 4th, 5th and 6th floors of the building, so it really is quite a feat to see the vehicles in the wide corridors and airy workspaces of the AutoTrader headquarters.
In addition to the burgundy VW Camper and blue Citroen H Van or Type H, H-Type or HY as it is otherwise known are a red 1987 Audi Quattro, an Alfa Romeo and a 1977 Jaguar XJ. A blue TVR Cerbera is also present and features an exterior finish that allows the car to be written on and wiped clear.
I thoroughly enjoyed my tour of the AutoTrader headquarters in Manchester and it appears to be a really exciting place to work in the heart of Manchester. The walls featured blueprints of vehicles and the meeting rooms were all named after car models, such as Polo and Corolla. The offices in London are also meant to be very swanky, including classic Mini’s attached to the ceiling upside down and equally as creative office space. I hope you enjoyed The Car Spotter’s tour and review of the AutoTrader office headquarters in Manchester.
