Gumball 3000 has become an iconic brand with car enthusiasts across the globe.

Each year they stage a road trip style rally with the route spanning various parts of the world. Between each of these events, Gumball also host Gumball Get Together events, the previous one happening over summer in Manchester.

The events were created to bring together supercar owners and fans. On Sunday 7th December, the venue was at MSL performance in Small Heath, Birmingham.

Supercar convoys arrived from various parts of the country including London and Manchester.

It was estimated that £6 million worth of supercars turned up. Various supercars were on show including Bentleys, Rolls-Royces, Lamborghinis, Ferraris, Maseratis, Aston-Martins, Porsches, Mercedes, BMWs and many more.

Many of the cars are painted and wrapped in extravagant colours including a rose gold Ferrari 458 and often the cars display unique personalised registration plates.

My favourite car on show was the bright yellow Mercedes SLS AMG black series, a highly desirable V8 supercar finished in a striking colour and a very rare sight.

A new black Lamborghini Huracan was also a nice sight to see on the roads.

It was the first Gumball Get Together event to be hosted in Birmingham

An MSL Performance spokesperson has said, ‘the day was a fantastic success, so much so we’re thinking of running it twice a year.’ It was expected the turnout would be 400, instead 2,000 people turned up for the Sunday event.

Police were on site to ensure the event ran smoothly.
