Today The Car Spotter will be discussing the White Lamborghini Veneno Roadster delivered to Lamborghini Hong Kong only yesterday.

One of the most exclusive and expensive cars of 2014 at $3.89 million before tax, the Lamborghini Veneno Roadster, had delivery taken by a Lamborghini dealership. Assumedly, the car is here to be delivered to the customer.

The car was photographed whilst being delivered to Lamborghini Hong Kong and released on their facebook page. The Lamborghini remained partially covered throughout the pictures.

In 2013 the extraordinary Lamborghini Veneno was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show 2013. Only 3 of the coupe variants were made and all sold immediately.

Later in the year Lamborghini announced that a roadster version of the car would be built with the total number of units being limited to 9. The limited production supercar was built to celebrate Lamborghini’s 50th anniversary. The car, it could be argued has hypercar status due to a combination of performance figures, price and exclusivity.

The Lamborghini Veneno Roadster, like the Lamborghini Veneno hard-top is based on the Lamborghini Aventador and develops 740hp from the 6.5-litre V12 engine. The engine has an output of 750PS, hence the LP750-4 badging, with the 4 representing the Lamborghini Veneno’s 4-wheel drive.

The transmission is a seven-speed independent shifting rod transmission, power being delivered to all four wheels. The pushrod suspension and horizontal spring and damper units form the Lamborghini’s suspension for the Veneno and its racing chassis.

The Lamborghini Veneno Roadster has a reported 0-60mph time of 2.9 second and a top speed of 221mph. This is marginally slower than the hard-top version that has a 2.8 second 0-60mph due to the added 50kg weight of the Veneno Roadster.

Most of the Veneno Roadster’s extravagant body panels are shared with the hard-top Veneno and Lamborghini has stated the front end acts as an aerodynamic wing to provide optimum airflow and down force at speed. A smooth undercarriage helps reduce drag and the dramatic rear diffuser accommodates four large, square exhaust pipes.

Other features of the Lamborghini Veneno Roadster include:
Exclusive alloy wheels that include a carbon fibre ring to deliver cool air to the carbon-ceramic brake discs and Pirelli tyres
Extensive carbon fibre use, including 2 bucket seats made in forged composite and a woven carbon-fibre skin interior upholstery
Unique, wide and extreme design body work
Quoted fuel consumption of 16.0 litres / 100km.
90 litre fuel tank

Personally I think the car is staggering, particularly the quoted performance figures and the extreme bodywork. The extremely limited production numbers and eye-watering price tag of the car make it very rare and only for the extremely wealthy. With no rear vision, reversing and parking would require the driver to open the doors and look behind the car, but impracticalities like these are to be expected with supercars. I hope to be fortunate enough to see one in person one day.

If you’re in Hong Kong, I would highly suggest a visit to the Lamborghini dealership to have a look.
