As promised, today The Car Spotter will be discussing the second of the two rare Lamborghini’s that have recently gone on sale in the UK, the Lamborghini Murciélago LP670-4 SuperVeloce.
Yesterday’s article talked about the Lamborghini Aventador Roadster Rosso Mars LP720-4 50th Anniversario special for sale in Edinburgh.
The Lamborghini Murciélago LP670-4 SV is one of only 186 cars produced by Lamborghini. This one is number 77. The production was reduced to only 186 models after initial plans to make 350 were abandoned to make way for the production of the later Aventador model. The number in existence will be now be 184 or fewer, 2 being written off in the past. With the rarity in mind, the price of the Murciélago SV is only going one way.
Unlike the Lamborghini Aventador Roadster 50th Anniversario which is available in both coupe and roadster, the Lamborghini Murciélago SV was only produced in coupe version. Both cars feature the trademark Lamborghini scissor doors.
The striking Murciélago LP670-4 SuperVeloce is being sold at VAS Vehicle Solutions in Kent. It is also finished in Lamborghini Rosso Mars; which is red to the average person. At 5 years old, the car has only done 5,000 miles. The car is right hand drive and has contrasting black alcantara interior, white SV stitching and bucket seats. The gloss black SV alloys and decals contrast with the unusual red paintwork. The front of the car lifts for speed bumps, the rear has a large fixed wing and larini sports exhaust. The lamborghini also has full carbon fibre options including carbon fibre engine cover slats.
The price of the car is stated as £POA, the car cost £270,000 so this would be the ball park figure for the car in question. The car produces 661bhp from the 6.5L V12 and accelerates from 0-60mph in 2.9 seconds and onto a top speed of 212mph. This is similar to the Aventador Anniversario that has the same 0-60 sprint time and a top speed of 217mph. Both cars are absolutely rapid.

If you’re in the market for a rare Lamborghini, it is a difficult decision between the Lamborghini Aventador Roadster Rosso Mars LP720-4 50th Anniversario and the Lamborghini Murciélago LP670-4 SuperVeloce. Personally, I think the Lamborghini Murciélago LP670-4 SV looks meaner and more aggressive which is surely a bonus for any Lamborghini.
With that said however, the Aventador Anniversario is a few years newer and has fewer miles on the clock and newer technology.
The decision for me is tricky and I will come to the conclusion that both cars are exquisite in their own ways.
Which Lamborghini would you choose? Do you think the Rosso Mars colour suits both Lamborghinis?
You can read more about some Lamborghini Murciélago LP670-4 SV’s that I have seen and reviewed in the past.
One was spotted on Jumeirah Walk in Dubai and the other is my all time favourite coloured pale blue Lamborghini SV owned by the Qatari Royal Family in London.
