It has been a while since my last blog article, I have been rather busy and have some great things planned for the upcoming months as we head into the summer period.
Today myself, The Car Spotter will be sharing with you my pictures and experiences from the Gumball 3000 Rally in Manchester at the Etihad Stadium.
For those of you who aren’t aware, the Gumball 3000 Rally is a world famous British 3000 mile international rally, combining celebrities and supercars on public roads.
This year, the route goes from Dublin to Bucharest, stopping off at places including Edinburgh, Manchester, London, Luxembourg and Prague.
As ever, the event includes ‘international royalty’, VIP celebrities and alumni. This year’s lineup includes actor David Hasselhoff, former F1 driver David Coulthard, rapper Eve, DJ Afrojack, heavyweight boxer David Haye, car blogger Tim Burton (Shmee150) and Ferrari test driver Josh Cartu.
Yesterday, on Monday the 2nd May, the Gumball Rally passed through the Etihad stadium in Manchester.
I arrived to the Etihad at around 12pm and walked round the stadium to the entrance of the event, where the exotic cars would pass through before parking.
There was already a grey Bentley Continental Supersports with yellow detail parked up, and a few more cars including an Audi R8 and a Maserati Quattroporte nearby.
Inside the nearby Mercedes dealership, I also spotted a Mercedes S63 AMG coupe.
The entrance to where the checkpoint inside the Etihad complex was a T-junction where huge crowds of people had gathered to witness the vehicles on the rally.
Some of the vehicles belonged to participants of the Gumball 3000 rally, other vehicles belonged to the general publuc and spectators gathered by their thousands.
One of my favourite coloured cars was the pale blue Audi RS7, the aqua colour really made the high performance Audi stand out.
Enjoy the pictures I captured below:
Were you at the Manchester Gumball 3000 Rally? What was your favourite car?
