Today, The Car Spotter will be talking about Lewis Hamilton’s mental Pagani Zonda 760 LH hypercar that he purchased. The Zonda was built as a one-of car specifically for him.
Although Lewis Hamilton took ownership of his Pagani Zonda a while back in 2014, I have not yet written an article about the outrageous hypercar. Enjoy the pictures of the unique, one off car.
The Pagani is described as today’s investment car, apparently they are worth double what they were five years ago, and this is set to double again in another five years. I think Hamilton will have bought the car for its performance rather than anything else though.
Formula 1 drivers are some of the most highly paid sports people in the world, some contracts reaching $10 million without including individual sponsorship deals. Unlike most road cars that feel slow compared with a F1 car, the Pagani Zonda is practically as close to an F1 car as you can get. The car was built specifically for him and is based upon the 760 RS, although Lewis Hamilton asked for the last two letters to be changed to LH. A bit tacky in my opinion, but anyway it is the car that matters.
The most powerful production car Pagani has built to date is the Pagani Zonda 760 RS, with 760bhp it surpasses even the newer Huayra model by approximately 40bhp, with the Pagani Huayra having 720bhp. The Pagani Zonda has a reported top speed of 225mph.
Lewis Hamilton opted for a manual gearbox as in his words, ‘my company car has a paddle-change gearbox, so when I drive for fun, I want a manual.’ The Zonda will be the only 760 series to have a six-speed manual transmission.
The car is painted in a purple paint job, features a lot of carbon fibre and even has personalised details such as a the same shade of purple on the circular exhaust cover, rear wing struts, outer taillights, centre-locking wheel caps and the headlights. The car has a carbon fibre rear diffuser, wide wheels and sits extremely low to the floor.
The Zonda 760 LH, like all Paganis was built by hand and Lewis Hamilton waited a while for it to be completed. He is said to have ordered it way back in 2012 and took delivery in 2014. He often lends the car to his mother and father due to his packed racing calendar.
He recently posted some pictures to his instagram account of the one off £1.6m Pagani Zonda 760 LH. One cannot help but be jealous. Lewis Hamilton has had various cars over the years too, recently a McLaren MP4-12C as a daily drive and was pictured with a Mercedes SLS AMG Black series, gifted to him by Mercedes after winning a title. The purple colour on the Zonda is definitely bold, with the purple interior looking a bit garish but this is purely down to personal taste. The Pagani Zonda 760 LH is an absolute monster and Lewis Hamilton is very fortunate to own and drive one.
