Today The Car Spotter will be discussing the newly released Lamborghini Aventador LP750-4 SuperVeloce, the hardcore version of the Lamborghini Aventador. Veloce in Italian means speed.
The basic formula for any Lamborghini SV variant is more power, less weight and better aerodynamics. The Lamborghini Aventador LP750-4 SV certainly fits all of the criteria.
Watch the full unveiling of the Lamborghini Aventador LP750-4 SV unveiled by the Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show below:
The SuperVeloce Aventador features more aggressive aerodynamics through increased use of carbon parts including a carbon fibre rear wing, diffusers and air vents. A tuned 6.5-litre V12 engine that delivers 50 metric horsepower than the regular Aventador, hence the 750 part of the model name. In addition, the car had decreased in weight by approximately 50 kilograms thanks to the increased use of carbon fibre parts. The rev limit is a huge 8,500rpm, so the noise created by the Aventador SV is bound to be something else.
The outcome is the SV should be more powerful, sharper and quicker, as well as looking more mental with the bodywork design and the use of the well known Lamborghini scissor doors.
The interior cabin of the Lamborghini Aventador LP750-4 SV is a similar story. The use of carbon hasn’t been limited to the exterior of the Aventador SV, with the sport bucket seats and door cards overhauled in carbon.
Performance figures include a 0-62mph time of 2.8 seconds, a tenth of a second quicker than the standard Aventador. 0-125mph is completed in 8.6 seconds. The maximum speed is still reported to be in excess of 217mph. Clearly, the changes are never going to be huge when the Aventador hit 0-60mph in under 3 seconds to begin with.
In terms of handling, the Aventador SV will benefit from enhanced aerodynamics, chassis improvements, lighter weight, magnetic suspension and individual adaptive wheel damping. All these features accumulate to boost cornering ability. The new electric power steering was made especially for the SV and will adapt to the steering ratio and travelling speed in combination with the driving mode selected. The purpose is to boost stability at higher speed whilst making low speed manoeuvres more efficient.
Aerodynamics of the Lamborghini Aventador LP750-4 SV have been made 150% more efficient and the down force is claimed to be 170% improved compared to the standard Lamborghini Aventador.
Deliveries begin in the spring of 2015, so expect to see the first orders arriving in the next few months.
As always, the Lamborghini Aventador LP750-4 SV delivers crazy looks and mental performance. It will be a real head turner and produce a brilliant noise, with a real presence on the roads. The SV version as always makes the standard model look a bit plain, which is something considering the initial car is still a Lamborghini. Numbers of the limited edition model are yet unknown. The Aventador SV is set to cost £238,000 + tax (€327,190 + tax, $366,000 + tax).
