Today The Car Spotter is going to be discussing the picture posted by Floyd Mayweather on his instagram account less than 24 hours ago.
It is unclear if the car’s are all his but he is well known for his love of cars so it wouldn’t be surprising if they all belong to him.
The picture shows a private jet and eight supercars/hypercars in a line.
From left to right, the cars are:
White Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano
White Porsche 911 Turbo S
White Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4
White Ferrari 458 Spider
Black Ferrari 458 Spider
White Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport
White/Silver Bugatti Veyron
Red/Black Bugatti Veyron
The common theme between all the cars is that they are predominantly white and each cost six figures and above. The total estimated cost of all the cars is approximately £5.5 million ($8.38 million). Each Bugatti Veyron is worth approximately £1.5 million each ($2.25 million).
It strikes me as strange that people have multiple of each of the same car, such as two Ferrari 458 Spiders and three Bugatti Veyrons. Surely having more varied cars would make a better collection?
It is slightly more understandable if the body style is different for example a coupe and convertible equivalent but in the case of the two Ferrari 458 Spiders it seems strange to have two identical cars in a collection only varying in colour. This is the same for the three Bugatti Veyrons, with only one being a Grand Sport and therefore different as it is a convertible.
Sure the cars are in different colours but choices like this make me question if the cars all belong to the same person.
It is generally easier to understand multiple cars of the same model within a collection if one of them is a limited or special edition.
Besides this, it is a nice line-up of cars, if not strangely repetitive.
Personally, my favourite out of the eight cars is the Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 for it’s striking looks and loud exhaust note from the 6.5L V12 engine.
Floyd Mayweather also posted this picture of him about 4 months ago next to an Orange and Black Mercedes McLaren SLR and a Red Ferrari Enzo.
What is your favourite supercar pictured?
