This will be the last article written by myself – The Car Spotter, until after Christmas.
The last article before Christmas is about Ferrari’s 2015 F80 concept that could follow on from the Ferrari LaFerrari.
The car looks absolutely mental and would make be the dream Christmas present for any car enthusiast.
Ferrari is known for ridiculous creations, as far back as the Ferrari F40 unveiled in 1987, one of the first true supercars.
The Ferrari F80 has been created and designed by Adriano Raeli. If the car is to be built, the car is set to feature a 900bhp V12 engine and an extra 300bhp KERS system. The car would be set to weigh only 800kg and features staggered driver and passenger seating, in the style of a fighter jet cockpit.
Personally I think the car looks like it would only be possible to use on a track. The car looks to have a very firm suspension set-up and rides very low to the ground. The lack of clearance between the wheels and the arches suggest it wasn’t made to handle speed bumps and potholes. The panels on the car make the car look quite flimsy at first glance, although I’m sure this isn’t the case.
Nonetheless, the car is out there and bold in terms of the design. The main frame is encased by the rear quarters which rise above the main body of the car. Finished in famous Ferrari Rosso red, the car is certainly something to look at.
The car looks tricky to enter and exit, with the driver and passenger making sure they step over the wide side skirts and not straight through them. It may not be the most eloquent or dignified way to enter a Ferrari, but all part of the hypercar experience.
Do you like how the Ferrari F80 concept looks? Do you think Ferrari will produce it?
Enjoy the pictures and merry Christmas.
