I hope you all had a good Christmas, today The Car Spotter will be discussing Deadmau5’s newly wrapped Porsche 911 Carrera S Cabriolet.
Joel Thomas Zimmerman, otherwise known by his stage name Deadmau5 is a music producer and is known for his brash and in your face car customisation.
His last car was a Ferrari 458 Spider, or as it was better known the “Purrari” due to the Nyan cat themed vinyl wrap on the Ferrari.
I saw Deadmau5 in this creation at the Manchester checkpoint of the Gumball Rally.
Since then, partly due to complaints by Ferrari, Deadmau5 no longer owns the “Purrari”.
On the 22nd December, Deadmau5 showed pictures of his newly wrapped Porsche 911 Carrera S Cabriolet on his twitter account. Clearly an early Christmas present to himself.
The Porsche 911 has been wrapped in a matte pearlescent colour. The car is a mixture of purple, blue and green and the colour changes depending on viewing angle and lighting.
Although not as individual as the “Purrari” Ferrari 458 Spider, the car is now much more unique and less subtle than his previous cars.
Personally I think the car quite suits the newly wrapped colour. Although many people may find it too much, it is similar to the late 90s and early 2000s when pearlescent paintjobs were popular among the car customisation scene.
Deadmau5 also owns a McLaren 650s and is rumoured to be acquiring a brand new McLaren P1.
What are your thoughts? Do you like the colour? Would you select the colour for your car?
