Today The Car Spotter, will be discussing Aston Martin’s latest, most extreme creation and giving thoughts on the recently unveiled track-only supercar.

Named after a Roman God, the Aston Martin Vulcan will be limited to just 24 examples worldwide, 24 representing Aston Martin’s long association with 24-hour endurance racing.

Built entirely from carbon-fibre, the Aston Martin Vulcan is created for ‘extreme performance’. The car has a huge 7.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol V12 Aston Martin engine, capable of producing more than 800bhp. A six-speed sequential gearbox sends power to the Vulcan’s rear wheels.

Construction includes a carbon tub similar to the Aston Martin One-77 and full FIA roll cage. Mechanically the Aston Martin Vulcan features pushrod suspension, adjustable dampers and anti-roll bars front and rear, adjustable anti-lock brakes and variable traction control.

On the inside, a full TFT screen sits in front of a racing steering wheel and an angled dashboard with switchgear with very little else.

Aston Martin has quoted £1.5m  ($2.33m) plus taxes and included in this price will be the option of track experience in a V12 Vantage S, One-77 and Vantage GT4 to gain experience. All this can be completed before you can have a go in the Aston Martin Vulcan.

The released images demonstrate the Aston Martin Vulcan is certainly a unique, track bred supercar. The car features side exit exhausts, motorsport alloys and a huge racing wing. The colour combination includes dark carbon fibre, green bodywork and orange highlights details including the wheel centres, mirrors and spoiler details.

The Aston Martin Vulcan features a huge rear splitter and the interior is extremely minimalist, continuing the orange details inside the cabin. Racing bucket seats and a racing steering wheel can be seen. The Aston Martin Vulcan certainly looks more hardcore than the usual sleek and elegant models Aston Martin produces, however it still maintains the Aston Martin image with the basic shape and elements of the limited £1m+ supercar.

The Aston Martin Vulcan looks extremely exciting and will be thrilling for those lucky enough to purchase and experience the car. It represents the forefront of Aston Martin design and technology.
